Background

At USAA, I worked on automation, shared services, legacy modernization, and developer tooling. My responsibilities grew to include proposing projects, setting scope, coordinating with other teams, and making release decisions.

I owned an automation audit platform from initial research through launch and support. By May 2026, it served approximately four teams and ten applications. I also proposed and led a vulnerability remediation prototype that won first place in an internal innovation competition.

Alongside that work, I guided two intern cohorts and helped my team adopt AI-assisted development through practical demonstrations and shared learning. Earlier, at Centuri Group, I contributed development and go-live support across six internal applications.

How I work

I like turning an unclear problem into something concrete: what needs to improve, what we can realistically deliver, and how we’ll know it works.

That means making tradeoffs and following through on them. I’ve reduced scope when integrations weren’t available, rolled back releases when validation exposed problems, and helped teams adopt a shared service through demos, documentation, and questions.

I’m particularly interested in what happens after launch. Seeing where a system helps—and where it creates extra work—is part of understanding whether we solved the right problem.

What’s next

I’m looking for opportunities that combine engineering with broader responsibility for technical delivery and operations. I want to work more directly with the people using the systems, help teams make sound decisions, and grow into leadership through that responsibility.

I hold a B.S. in Computer Science and am completing an MBA in IT Management, expected February 2027. I’m also building two public Go projects, agent-runtime and repo-steward, that automate routine dependency work while keeping policy, limits, and approval outside the model.
